Back in March and ahead of the governments decision to severely curtail all social interaction by way of “lockdown,” the leadership and trustees of Staplehurst Free Church made the difficult decision to suspend all services and activities in the church building with immediate effect. This action was only taken after much prayer and thought but with an overriding desire to protect all in our community. Since this time our leadership have continued to monitor the situation and are keeping under prayerful review the future re-opening of the church building. However, along with most other churches the current view is that the time to re-open is not likely to be for some while yet. Any decisions to re-open would not be made until the government had issued guidance as to how services and activities may be re-started safely. In the meantime if you would like to join us for our weekly service via YouTube please use the contact detailed above to receive the weekly link half an hour before the start of the service.
In the meantime we recognise that although there are resources out there it can be difficult to know where to start!
So we have put together a page of national and local resources to help you navigate through these unprecedented times. These are very much suggestions. There is of course many more resources available than listed but we hope you find these helpful!
As part of our weekly Sunday Connections, members and friends of SFC have been sharing photos taken on walks or of their gardens. These have now been compiled into a friendly and we hope, fun photo competition. If you would like to view them all and choose your favourites please click here to see our photo gallery
Every Sunday at 10.30am and 6.30pm
Our all age family service is on the 1st Sunday morning of the month. On other Sundays our youngsters join us for worship at the beginning of the service and then attend age appropriate sessions, whilst the adults further explore God's Word together.
Staplehurst Free Church
Station Road, Staplehurst
Kent TN12 0QQ
We are on the A229 - coming from Maidstone we are just over the station bridge and then 200 yards on the left.
If you are coming from the Cranbrook direction, we are on your right about 400 yards after the traffic lights at the crossroads. The church itself is set back from the road with car parking available in front of the church but this can make us easy to miss! To help find us at night look out for the red reflective triangles on either side of the gateposts.
Our church has a 'come as you are' atmosphere. The church and the Lord are more interested in you than in what you wear! The Bible says ``People look on the outward appearance but the Lord looks on the heart``.
